MFIS 2017 Half-Day Professional Development for Administrators and Principals Featuring Michael Fullan

MFIS School Administrators and Principals will have a unique opportunity to hear Michael Fullan speak on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Hotel Fort Garry, Winnipeg!

Michael Fullan will be the keynote speaker on Tuesday morning, October 17 from 8:15 a.m. to 9:30 a..m. in the Grand Ballroom, 4th Floor of the Fort Garry Hotel Conference Centre. Immediately after the keynote address, you will attend a continuing session in the Concert Hall Room located on the 7th floor of the Hotel Fort Garry, to further debrief and discuss Michael Fullan’s presentation.

We hope you will join us for the morning to gain fresh ideas and meet with your colleagues from independent schools.

What: Michael Fullan – keynote speaker at CAIS Heads and Chairs Conference

When: Tuesday, October 17, 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Where: Hotel Fort Garry (Keynote Presentation) in the Grand Ballroom on the 4th Floor of the Conference Centre (through the Skywalk) from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m.; then proceed to the Concert Hall Room on the 7th Floor (through the Skywalk back to the Hotel) from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. for the rest of the session.

CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK OF OUTCOMES, EARLY START FRENCH, KINDERGARTEN TO GRADE 3 – WORKSHOP

Brand New and First Time in Manitoba!

MFIS is pleased to partner with Manitoba Education and Training, Bureau de l’education francaise, Education et Formation Manitoba, to offer an information session on a NEW curriculum!

Session Description: This session will provide participants with an overview of the Curriculum Framework of Outcomes, Early Start French, Kindergarten to Grade 3. Participants will have the opportunity to explore and discuss the pedagogical and philosophical foundations of Early Start French, the goals, the learning outcomes for oral communication, resources and strategies for success all within the context of the balanced literacy approach. This professional learning session will prepare participants to support the effective implementation of this new framework. They will also receive a copy of the document.

WHEN: Friday, November 3, 2017

TIME: 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

WHERE: Room 217 A/B at 1181 Portage Ave.

FEE: No Cost

Participants are on their own for lunch to sample the nearby eating establishments or they are welcome to bring their own lunch.
