New to Teaching Workshop

MFIS is offering the New-to-Teaching Workshop on Friday, September 24th, 2021, virtually from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
The New-to-Teaching Workshop is an in-service for new teachers starting their careers in our schools. Information about teaching in independent schools will be the context of the session. Participants will dialogue on topics relevant to being a new or first-year teacher in our current environment.
Andrea Neufeld, Principal of the Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute, is the primary facilitator of the workshop. There will also be other guest presenters who will provide relevant information for new teachers of funded-independent schools.
Some of the topics planned for this year are:
- Teacher as Designer
- Using Professional Protocols and Reflective Practice
- Effective Communication
- Promising Practices in Distance Learning
- Challenges of being a new teacher
- Latest Topics in Education
